“We pay tribute to the service of Vikita Sihali, who passed away January 8, 2015”.
The Lord’s Day
August 21, 2016
Vikita Sihali was a “young” young adult at the 2013 Presbyterian Youth Triennium. She serves her home presbytery, Amatola, in the Uniting Presbyterian Church in Southern Africa and her home congregation as a youth leader. She shared the following words with the presbyteries of Northern New England and Boston after the Triennium:
“I bring greetings from my beautiful rainbow nation, South Africa. I bring special greetings from our brothers and sisters of the Uniting Presbyterian Church in Southern Africa (UPCSA) and especially from the Amatola Presbytery. Their message is, ‘We are praying for God’s continued blessings to be poured upon you and your families as well as the congregations within the Northern New England and Boston presbyteries.’
“It is an honor for me to be here with you, especially after such a wonderful experience at the Triennium, where over 5,200 youth gathered to praise God, pray for and with each other, and to proclaim God’s greatness. The greatness of God was indeed upon the Triennium. Through the faces of young people who were seeking to praise God and seeking to learn more about each other as human beings, I saw God showing me the goodness of his love. In my world this experience of Triennium is unprecedented, and it is a memory that I will forever cherish and one that I will strive to share within the UPCSA youth fellowship.”

Great God, we give you thanks today for our young people. May we continue to find ways in our churches, our homes, and our communities to gather them, teach them, listen to them, and inspire them. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
