Destini was born and raised in Harrisburg, PA and is a member of Capital Presbyterian Church of Carlisle Presbytery. Destini graduated from Penn State Harrisburg with her B.A. in Political Science and is currently obtaining her master’s degree in Community and Economic Development online through Penn State. Before joining the YAV Team, Destini has served the PC(USA) by being a member of Advocacy Committee for Women’s Concerns (ACWC) and the Diversity Coordinator for Presbyterian Women of Carlisle.

In her current role as Associate for Recruitment and Relationships, Destini is charged with extending the invitation to have a transformational experience to young adults, connecting with alum and cultivating a partnership with campus ministries, congregations, and community organizations.

Bridgette has worked with The Presbyterian Church for the last 21-years and with the Young Adult Volunteer program for the last 13-years. In her role as Mission Specialist for Logistics, Bridgette oversees coordinating and arranging the orientation, transition, and site coordinators events. She also is the point person for the application process, insurance, and background checks.

Bridgette is the proud small business owner of a Creative Moments Designs. It creates beautiful wreaths for your door and home. Bridgette is a die had University of Louisville Cardinal Fan.


Champaka Srinivasan

A native from Chennai, India, Champaka lives in Louisville, KY with her family. She has served in various offices in Presbyterian World Mission since 2004. She has a background in finance and systems management and will primarily be working on the logistical aspects of program finance management. She believes in Loving All and Serving All and is an ardent fan of South Indian classical and devotional music.


Andy Thomas

Andy was born in upstate New York and was raised in Tucson, AZ. Andy served as a YAV in Washington, DC (2015-16) , and in Asheville, NC (2016-17). He graduated from Louisville Presbyterian Theological Seminary in May 2020 with a degree in Marriage & Family Therapy. Andy enjoys doing just about anything outside and spending as much time as he can with his cat, as well as his friends and family.

Andy does a little bit of everything in the YAV Office, but primary oversees the process of YAVs being placed in their sites as well as our social media pages. He is passionate about the program because of the impact it has on his life and loves meeting other YAVs/YAVA to hear about their experiences in and out of the program.


Lee Catoe
Social Media Specialist

Lee is a native of South Carolina and currently resides in Nashville, TN. He is a graduate of Presbyterian College with a B.S. in Biology and holds a Masters of Divinity from Vanderbilt Divinity School. During his time at Vanderbilt, he completed his thesis studies on queer and incarnational theology. Lee also enjoys songwriting and spending time with his beagle, Rupert (and also his partner Will).
