Connecting Presbyterian generosity for the sake of Christ’s mission
The Presbyterian Mission Agency depends on the generosity of people like you in order to pursue life-changing ministries across the United States and around the world. These gifts help strengthen the body of Christ and transform the world in Christ’s name. By connecting Presbyterians for mission, we are able to seek justice for the impoverished and oppressed, assist the disaster stricken, start new worshipping communities, train peacemakers, equip leaders, and strive for a more inclusive church. Our work is supported through:
- Shared Giving: Most of these undesignated dollars are given by congregations to support the work of presbyteries, synods and the Presbyterian Mission Agency. Read more
- Extra Commitment Opportunities: Gifts to these funds are directed to a specific ministry such as hunger relief, advocacy, racial-ethnic work, or mission co-worker sending and support. Read more
- Directed Mission Support: These gifts come from congregations and are directed toward a specific ministry of the Presbyterian Mission Agency, including the sending and support of specific mission co-workers.
- Special Offerings: These four churchwide offerings enable Presbyterians to express their collective commitment to specific ministries: Great Hour of Sharing (hunger relief, disaster response, and self-development ministries), Pentecost (children, youth and young adults), Peace and Global Witness and (peacemaking and reconciliation), and Christmas Joy (current and retired church workers in need and racial-ethnic schools). The Presbyterian Mission Agency relies on gifts from congregations as well as individuals who support us with gifts that are over and above their regular congregational giving. Individuals with multiple passions for mission can designate gifts to be used where the need is greatest. LINK
