Food insecurity tightens its hold in Madagascar

IRIN humanitarian news and anlysis, a service of the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs, has recently issued a report on Madagascar that raises concern for growing food insecurity.

In parts of Madagascar's drought-prone south people have resorted to eating cattle-feed, as successive years of crop failures and the current lean season give food insecurity a firmer grip on the region. Read the full report.
