The votes are being counted – Sudan

Follow the results of the voting in the referendum of Southern Sudan as provided by the Southern Sudan Referendum Commission and the Southern Sudan Referendum Bureau.

The results posted are "updated from the information retrieved from the referendum centers….These are incomplete and provisional pending the declaration of preliminary and final results. They may be subject to change."

The time line for announcing the vote count (scroll to the bottom of the page) shows that the final results will be announced on February 7 if there are no appeals and February 14 if there are appeals.

The Southern Sudan Referendum Commission (SSRC) in Khartoum is responsible for conducting the 2011 Southern Sudan Referendum in conjunction with its subsidiary in Juba, the Southern Sudan Referendum Bureau (SSRB). The referendum is mandated within the 2005 Comprehensive Peace Agreement and will decide whether the ten states of Southern Sudan will remain in a unified Sudan or vote for independence.
