Nebraska Presbyterian Foundation awards more than $137K in grants

Nebraska Presbyterian Foundation’s Board of Directors awarded grants totaling $137,211 to nine Nebraska churches or organizations in April to partially fund projects that support outreach activities to enhance or expand some aspect of their ministry.

PDA documentary breathes life into refugee crisis

To Breathe Free, a short movie produced by Presbyterian Disaster Assistance (PDA), will be screened twice in upcoming days at the DC Shorts Film Festival in Washington, D.C. Produced and shot in D.C., the film follows the five-year saga of a Syrian family fleeing the war in Homs, Syria to refugee camps in Jordan to beginning their new life in the nation’s capital.

Women of Faith Awardees named by the Presbyterian Mission Agency Board

Amantha Barbee, Karen Hernandez-Granzen and Liz Theoharis were named recipients of the 2018 Women of Faith Awards by the Presbyterian Mission Agency of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) during its board meeting Feb. 7-9. They will be honored at the Women of Faith Awards Breakfast on Sunday, June 17, during the 223rd General Assembly (2018) of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) in St. Louis, Missouri.

PC(USA) communications groups garner 17 Associated Church Press awards

Communications groups within the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) were honored for their contributions to religious communications in 2015 with 17 “Best of the Christian Press” awards spanning a variety of topics and media. The awards were presented at the 100th anniversary gathering of the Associated Church Press, meting in St. Louis – the city in which it was founded – April 20-22.
