225th general assembly (2022)
Two days before commissioners to the 225th General Assembly will elect their successors, the Co-Moderators of the 224th General Assembly, the Rev. Gregory Bentley and Ruling Elder Elona Street-Stewart, took to the Being Matthew 25 airwaves to discuss, among other topics, what they’re praying for during the lead-up to the Assembly, which begins Saturday.
It fell to Mid-Kentucky Presbytery to set sail on a shakedown cruise Monday with the just-out-of-the-box technology that will be used during the hybrid 225th General Assembly, which begins June 18.

Meeting via Zoom Monday, the Committee on the Office of the General Assembly joined with the boards for the Presbyterian Mission Agency and the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.), A Corporation, to approve proposed unified budgets for 2023-24.

Cathy Chang, a mission co-worker serving in the Philippines since 2015, was shocked on April 11 when she found stickers and a tarpaulin with her photo affixed to the front gate of her home with accusations that she is a “Supporter of Terrorist CPP-NPA-NDF” and threatening her to “get out of our country.”

The Resource, Allocation and Stewardship Committee of the Presbyterian Mission Agency Board approved proposed PMA budgets for 2023 and 2024 Wednesday. Those budget proposals now go on for consideration by the full PMA Board when it meets later this month and then by the 225th General Assembly this summer.
The Coordinating Committee of the Presbyterian Mission Agency Board approved comments on two important items of business that will come before commissioners to the 225th General Assembly this summer. With the committee’s approval on Thursday, consideration on the comments will go to the full board for consideration during its meeting April 27-29.
The Board of Directors of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.), A Corporation made short work of its agenda Thursday, completing the business conducted during the public segment of its meeting in just an hour, half the time the board had allotted.
