Presbyterians among those receiving Religion Communicators Council awards

Presbyterians Today, other denominational publications are presented plenty of plaques

LOUISVILLE — Presbyterians Today and a number of other publications of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) were among the winners of the DeRose-Hinkhouse Memorial Awards, announced recently by the Religion Communication Congress 2020.

The awards were to have been given out last week during a joint conference of the Religion Communicators Council and the Associated Church Press. However, the coronavirus pandemic cancelled the conference, which had been set for Alexandria, Va. Associated Church Press winners were announced last week.

Following are the award-winners who are part of the PC(USA). The first group is those garnering the Award of Excellence, the RCC’s highest honor:

Founded in 1929, the Religion Communicators Council is a professional association whose mission is to provide opportunities for networking and professional development for people working in communications for a wide variety of faith-based organizations. Members include editors, writers and designers, photographers, videographers, broadcasters, social media journalists, web developers, marketers, fundraisers, project managers and students.

The awards are named in honor of the late Victor DeRose and the late Paul M. Hinkhouse, leading lithographers in New York City. This year, RCC received more than 250 entries.
