LOUISVILLE — If you want to become better equipped to educate others about climate change, now is your chance to register for training that leads to becoming a certified Blessed Tomorrow Climate Ambassador.

The Presbyterian Hunger Program (PHP) is promoting the free training by its partner, Blessed Tomorrow, a coalition of diverse religious partners working to inspire action on climate change.

“It’s a great way for Presbyterians to learn more,” said Jessica Maudlin Phelps, Associate for Sustainable Living and Earth Care Concerns for PHP. “The quality content that Blessed Tomorrow provides is consistently impressive, both for beginners and folks that already have some Climate Change experience.”

Participants in the four- to five-hour Climate Ambassador training are taught about the effects of climate change, actions congregations and others can take and how to speak and advocate on the topic.

The “on-demand training and resources will empower and equip you to inspire clergy, congregants, your workplace, community and policymakers to action on climate change that makes a difference,” according to Blessed Tomorrow.

Maudlin Phelps said participating in the training also allows newly trained Ambassadors to have access to content that will allow them to then give other presentations.

“I was particularly grateful that we were able to coordinate with Blessed Tomorrow to incorporate some Presbyterian-specific content that we hope will be helpful,” she said.

People who choose the on-demand version can begin training at their convenience and have six weeks to finish, according to Blessed Tomorrow. You can register here, using this code: PCUSABTAmbassador21.

The Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) will offer a live version of the training from 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Feb. 4, 2022, via Zoom. You can register here.

PHP’s Eco-Justice Journey blog has more about the training and PHP’s partnership with Blessed Tomorrow.
