LAKE KIVU, Rwanda – The June 2017 installment of Keeping Faith, the video newsletter from Tony De La Rosa, Interim Executive Director of Presbyterian Mission Agency, is now available for viewing and download.

The video was recorded when De La Rosa attended a regional gathering of Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) African mission co-workers in Lake Kivu, Rwanda. Over 35 mission co-workers are serving in more than 20 countries there.

Contained in the video are three short stories demonstrating how PC(USA) global partner, the Presbyterian Church of Rwanda and our mission co-workers, are working together to begin the process of bringing peace and reconciliation to a country that in 1994 saw more than 880,000 of its citizens killed in a genocide that swept the nation.

Forgiveness and Hope: A Rwanda pastor, the Rev. Jerome Bizimana, is bringing together both perpetrators and survivors of the genocide to begin the process of healing and reconciliation.

Leading by Example: The next generation of compassionate theological leaders is training at the Presbyterian University of Rwanda in Kigali. One of their teachers, mission co-worker Kay Day, not only teaches theology but tries to be an example to students, both in and out of the classroom.

Best Future from Today: Thanks to a grant from Presbyterian Women, young Rwandans are using their talent and creativity to record their own music and start small businesses.
