Please contribute to the programs that provide grants to establish new congregations, 1001 New Worshiping Communities and presbyteries that wish to enable continual congregational transformation.
Mission Program Grants
Dear Colleagues,
The Office of Mission Program Grants offers programs intended to provide operating funding for new church developments, for supporting presbyteries’ work in encouraging continual congregational transformation and for the establishment of 1001 New Worshiping Communities.
The processes encourage local accountability, rewards risk taking and innovative thinking and enables flexibility in the types of ministries that are considered for assistance.
Grant funding for New Churches is funded in layers. First-Level New Church Grant funding supports the first 18 months of ministry. Second-Level New Church Grant funding is available for the next 30 months to new churches that have made significant progress in reaching their goals and objectives. Grants at both levels are for $25,000. We also sponsor the Sam & Helen R. Walton Award to help excellent new congregations with their capital expenses.
The Presbytery Grant for Congregational Transformation provides grants of up to $50,000 for two years to support presbyteries in their work of continually transforming existing congregations.
The 1001 New Worshiping Communities "Seed" Grant provides an initial $7,500 for the first six months of ministry and then the potential for an additional $17,500 "Investment" Grant for the next year of ministry. Over the next eighteen months, we will design and offer an award to exceptional new worshiping communities.
Blessings,
Tim McCallister, Associate
