Presbyterian group explores the experiences of migration in Central American journey

A group of 24 Presbyterians and guests traveled to Central America in the past two weeks with the Presbyterian Peacemaking Program to learn more about the conditions in Latin American countries that make people choose to travel, usually on foot, to the United States border for the faint hope of a better life in the U.S. They also heard from migrants who had been returned to their home countries and the perils they faced after they returned.

Mosaic of Peace deadline approaches

The Presbyterian Peacemaking Program is set to lead its fourth journey to Israel and Palestine March 15–28, 2020. Applications are being accepted online for the 2020 Mosaic of Peace Conference through Oct. 15, or after that date as space allows.

Travel study seminars to explore conflict and reconciliation in Rwanda and Ukraine

Presbyterians interested in learning about conflict and reconciliation, from both an active and historical perspective, have an opportunity to do so by participating in one of the Presbyterian Peacemaking Program’s travel study seminar series upcoming in Spring 2019. Reconciliation Work in Rwanda: Healing the Trauma of the Genocide is scheduled for March 11–23, 2019, and Ukraine and Russia: Peacemaking on the Front Line is scheduled for April 22 – May 6, 2019. The due date for applications is November 15 for the Rwanda seminar, and December 15 for the Ukraine-Russia seminar. After those dates, applications will be considered if space remains available.

Peacemaking Program to sponsor travel study seminar to Korea

All eyes have been on the Korean peninsula in recent weeks as the 2018 Winter Olympics have taken place. Presbyterians and other interested people will get a chance to see and learn about the Korean culture in person later this year.
