Celebrating 150 years of Presbyterian partnership in Chile

The sanctuary at Unión Cristiana Presbyterian Church in Santiago, Chile was full the evening of Sunday, July 21, as representatives of all four presbyteries of the Evangelical Presbyterian Church in Chile (IEPeCh) gathered to give thanks to God for 150 years of mission partnership with the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.).

The Rev. Dr. Benjamin F. Gutiérrez, who served the Presbyterian Church as a mission co-worker, along with his wife, Ernestina “Tina,” in Ecuador; as joint field secretary, associate for mission design, and liaison with Latin America and the Caribbean; and as area coordinator for South America, passed away November 2 in Texas at age 87.

I could not walk away: The mission work on migration and human trafficking

Cathy Chang and her husband, Juan Lopez, are mission co-workers in Manila, Philippines. They help global partners such as churches and non-governmental organizations address issues of migration and human trafficking. Powerful storms cause problems in the Midwest and South

A series of storms in the past few weeks have caused a number of problems for residents across the Midwest and the South. From early April until last week, thousands have been left without power while some businesses and churches have been damaged by fallen trees, high winds and flooding.

Fort Worth Presbyterian church vandalized

In an apparent random act of violence, the education wing of St. Stephen Presbyterian Church in Fort Worth, Texas was extensively vandalized last Saturday evening. Officials believe the vandals gained entry to the building by breaking windows around 8:00pm and then continued their rampage until 4:20am Sunday when a church steward arrived and startled them away.
