PMA board allows six more months to study Stony Point Center’s future

The Presbyterian Mission Agency Board of Directors voted unanimously Friday to extend, by six months, the timeline for studying the future of Stony Point Center, a facility and ministry of the PMA along the Hudson River north of New York City that practices intentional hospitality and offers education, housing and meeting space.

Small-church pastor receives $15k student loan forgiveness

Five years ago, the Rev. Dr. Bob Breed made a conscious decision to serve a smaller PC(USA) church part time in Charlotte, North Carolina, where he could also work at the city’s men’s shelter. Pleasant Grove Presbyterian Church has been good to Breed, caring greatly for him and his family. But despite working two jobs, Breed is still making less than he was in his previous position at a larger church. His wife went from part-time to full-time work to help make ends meet.

Engagement grants available to PC(USA) seminarians

Donor leaves more than $1 million to Presbyterian Foundation for college scholarships

A Florida woman who was a lifelong Presbyterian, a savvy investor, and a pioneer for women in the Chicago banking industry, has left a bequest of more than $1 million to the Presbyterian Foundation. The money is being used to establish a fund for scholarships for students attending colleges and universities affiliated with the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.).
