In 2010 PC(USA) Environmental Ministries created a new way for congregations to stay active in helping the environment: Earth Care Congregations (ECC). Earth Care Congregations are defined as “congregations that have committed to the “Earth Care Pledge” and accomplished a specific number of actions toward caring for God’s earth in four categories: worship, education, facilities, and outreach.”
If you want to make your church an Earth Care Congregation, please contact Katie Holmes. A map of the Earth Care Congregations has been created, showing that ECC span the United States, from New York to Hawaii. Become a part of this growing campaign to help create eco-justice for God’s earth!
