Tell the House to Protect Creation and Communities

The National Council of Churches Eco-Justice Program sent the action alert below.

This week the House is considering a bill that would reduce funding for clean air and clean water by more than 15 percent forcing communities around the country to deal with water pollution from other states and more kids vulnerable to asthma. We are called to be good stewards of God’s good Earth and to protect vulnerable populations in particular from harm. Over the last 40 year, we have experienced an increase in air and water quality due in part to government policy that sets strong standards across city and state boundaries based on the needs of the most vulnerable, not the most able, among us.

Tell your Member of Congress to vote no on the House Interior Appropriations Bill, HR 2584

This bill goes too far eliminating some of the most successful air and water programs that have made our communities healthy and safe places for our families and our children to live. If these cuts are put in place, air and water pollution would increase, leaving everyone more vulnerable to health problems and contamination.

Join us in standing up for the health of our communities, children and God’s Creation.
