PC(USA) Compassion Peace, and Justice (CPJ) ministry area will hold a training day on March 25, 2011 in conjunction with Ecumenical Advocacy Days in Washington D.C. The training day theme will be "A Justice Society and the Changing Role of the Church." The training is designed to develop a link between the domestic and global ministries of CPJ and local congregations and Presbyterians interested in social and public witness opportunities.
The training day will provide opportunities to learn about the programs of Compassion, Peace and Justice; learn from churches that are participating in disciple-making through compassion, peace and justice; participate in workshops on various topics; and network with Presbyterians who are passionate about social justice issues. Environmental Ministries will offer a workshop on the Earth Care Congregations program.

The CPJ Training Day is one of the events to celebrate the 65th anniversary of the Office of Public Witness, which is the public policy information and advocacy office of the General Assembly of the PC(USA). Its task is to advocate, and help the church to advocate, the social witness perspectives and policies of the Presbyterian General Assembly.
