Host a Performance of Leaps and Bounds

Recently I have been hearing a lot about an opportunity for people of faith to think about eco-justice issues through art.  Leaps and Bounds is a one-woman theatrical performance that explores how faith speaks to economic and environmental issues.   Through multiple tools including song, prayer, storytelling, and movement, performer and developer Tevyn East helps communities of faith explore the intersections of “faith, ecology, and the global economy.”  Watch a promotional video for the performance

The show is a presentation of the Affording Hope Project, and it has been touring throughout the country in 2010.  The tour will continue in 2011.  Find a production near you, or learn about opportunities to host a performance in your community.  If you’d like to host a performance, please email affordinghopeproject@gmail.com.

Rev. Kate McGregor Mosley, Director of Earth Covenant Ministry in Atlanta, recently hosted a performance of Leaps and Bounds.  Rev. Mosley recommends the performance to other faith communities, “Having worked to bring the performance to Atlanta, and coming to know Tevyn in the process, I am very impressed with her talents, her commitment to creation care and social justice and the manner in which she engages multiple intelligences in this important issue. It truly is a dynamic performance!”

If your church is considering working on earth care in the future, or is already doing so and is looking for a way to re-energize or refocus its efforts, consider hosting a performance of Leaps and Bounds next year.
