Growing tech talent for a thriving Armenia

Narek, a typical 13-year-old, is fascinated with technology. He loves chess, math and physics. But his small town of Stepanavan lacked opportunities to develop his gifts. His parents’ generation survived the 1988 earthquake and post-Soviet deprivation that left half a million Armenians homeless. They wanted more for their son.

That opportunity came when donor support helped open the Armat Robotics Center in Stepanavan last year through the Jinishian Memorial Foundation. Narek is now gaining valuable computer coding skills and has an exciting vision for a promising information technology career.

Narek has discovered that he loves robotics competitions and working with a team to solve technology challenges. Join us in our top priority: to change Armenia’s future by equipping children to follow their dreams today.

The new engineering lab is part of our wider mission to cut off generational poverty at the root — by offering vocational training and affordable loans to strengthen small businesses. Along with kids like Narek, one-third of the IT lab students are adults whose new expertise will strengthen the tech sector now. This multi-layer approach is what makes Jinishian a recognized leader in creative, effective methods for long-term economic growth in Armenia.

We are ready to expand IT labs across the country with a goal of $15,000 needed to open the next location. Your contribution is vital to help us reach more children.

The Jinishian Memorial Program began in 1966 to meet the needs of the post-genocide Armenian population. Today JMP reaches more than 65,000 people each year in seven locations—Armenia, Lebanon, Syria, Istanbul, Jerusalem, Artsakh and Georgia. The leadership and staff are 100 percent local and unite across Apostolic, Catholic and Evangelical traditions to share God’s love with the most vulnerable.

Give securely online to support the Jinishian Memorial Program. Donors have an important role in supporting this outreach which is only partially funded by endowment. Your gift today will make a lasting impact on the life of a child.
