The Prophet Isaiah and Jesus: Living in a special time
Luke 4:18–19 • He has sent me to proclaim release to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to let the oppressed go free, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor.
These are difficult and confusing times for human liberty. But rather than seeing a challenging time as a time of distress, Christians view it as a time of opportunity. Christians call it a kairos moment, a moment when the Holy Spirit draws near to do a special work. We do that work when we demonstrate the love of God for all and declare our faith in a God who makes the impossible possible. Challenging times present us with an opportunity to change the times in which we live.
Lord, may we proclaim your freeing power until your kingdom is established. Amen.
