Hello, my name is Willa Van Camp and I am the newest summer intern. I am a rising junior at Austin College in Sherman, TX where I am studying Economics and Math. I am originally from Palo Alto, CA where I am a member of Covenant Presbyterian Church. My church came for a seminar at the Presbyterian Ministry in June of 2012. That’s how I learned about the internships.
I am very excited to be here this summer and get a chance to learn about a number of different issues. I am especially looking forward to learning more about the issue of child soldiers as well as learning about the ways in which we can use interfaith dialogue to help combat numerous issues. I think that it is incredible to see how much of a difference it can make when people can come together and try to see things from new perspectives. I am also looking forward to seeing how the interaction between the UN and the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) as well as other NGOs works. I am very glad to be here and am ready for a wonderful summer of learning and growing.
