Madeline Bacchus – summer 2015 intern

photo of Madeline BacchusMy name is Madeline Bacchus and I will be interning for the Presbyterian Ministry at the United Nations during the summer of 2015. I am a rising sophomore at Tufts University, where I am studying Peace and Justice Studies and Communications, and a member of the Presbyterian Church of Sweet Hollow in Melville, New York.

This summer I hope to learn more about the UN’s relationship with and involvement in gender equality and justice. I also hope to become involved and have the opportunity to contribute to such efforts, as I am very concerned with human rights and am a facilitator for Students Acting for Gender Equality on my campus. I would love to see how different social justice topics work together and how the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) addresses intersectionality in its work with the UN and other NGOs.

I am excited to learn more about the religious work that goes into international action and global affairs. I look forward to a thrilling and enlightening summer here at the Ministry.
