#Orangeurhood in #16Days!

This year, the 16 Days of Activism and the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, 25 November, occur shortly before the 20th anniversary of the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action, which is one of the most comprehensive international agreement on women’s rights.

For the 16 Days of Activism, UNiTE invites you to take the campaign local – to your neighborhoods, schools, local businesses, etc. – through a host of activities. The Beijing Platform for Action identified 12 areas of action, which are critical to ending violence and discrimination against women and girls. We are dedicating each of the 16 Days, from 25 November to 10 December, to a cross-cutting issue or one of these areas as it relates to ending violence against women and girls.

Which action will you take? Which day will you pick? What’s the most important issue in your neighbourhood?

Use the colour orange to visibly and creatively “Orange YOUR Neighbourhood!” Organize orange events to raise awareness and tell us about them. Share your photos, messages and videos showing how you #orangeurhood at facebook.com/SayNO.UNiTE and twitter.com/SayNO_UNiTE.
