My name is Richard Aylor, and I am interning for the Presbyterian Ministry at the United Nations this academic year.  I am currently a senior at Princeton Theological Seminary and a candidate for ordination in the PC(USA).  I am looking forward to this internship because I have always felt called to public advocacy ministry and am interested in my denomination’s role on international justice issues.

As someone called to minister in a parish, I feel that it is very important that churches are educated on international issues.  The church is not confined to a building or our country’s borders.  Jesus calls us to minister to the whole world, and I hope for my future congregation to be involved in global ministry.  This is a very interesting time to be doing this internship, with so many international issues that the church needs to be involved in.  I look forward to contributing to my denomination’s worldwide ministry, and educating other churches about the importance of public advocacy.

I am a member of Raleigh Court Presbyterian Church in Roanoke, Virginia and am under care of the Presbytery of the Peaks.
