Summer 2013 intern at the Presbyterian Ministry at the United Nations – Brendan Welsh

Brendan Welsh photoHello. My name is Brendan Welsh, and I just completed my first year at Princeton Theological Seminary. I went to Episcopal Academy where I grew up, in a suburb of Philadelphia, after which I went to Hamilton College in upstate New York, where I met my wife. In January of 2010 we were married in California, and I went to work for the FOCUS youth ministry in Philadelphia, where I worked for 2½ years. My wife and I come from different denominational backgrounds, but we both joined Narberth Presbyterian Church a little over a year ago, a wonderful community that we were both very sad to leave upon moving to Princeton. I am serving at the Presbyterian Ministry at the UN as part of my seminary field education, and I am hoping that my experience this summer will not only equip me to serve people of varying faiths and backgrounds, but also give me a vision of what Jesus is doing all over the globe.

I would ask for your prayers in the following areas:

  • For safety for my wife, who is walking the Camino de Santiago in Spain right now
  • For safety and efficiency as I travel back and forth from Princeton to New York
  • For wisdom, discernment, and joy as I research, write, and interact with people at this ministry and at the UN
