O Little Town of Bethlehem, how still we see thee lie;
Above thy deep and dreamless sleep the silent stars go by.

Wherever you are in the world, you are invited to come to Bethlehem to worship Christ, the newborn King!   The service will be broadcast live at 10:00 AM EST at the National Cathedral’s website, so that people everywhere can tune in and worship together across the miles.  For those in DC, please join in person at the National Cathedral; for those in Bethlehem, please join in person at The Evangelical Lutheran Christmas Church.

Prayers, readings, and hymns alternate between Washington, DC and Bethlehem, Palestine, bringing together people of different lands, languages, and backgrounds in celebration of the birth of the Prince of Peace.

Service participants include Bishop Munib Younan, Bishop Suheil Dawani, The Rev. Dr. Mitri Raheb, Bishop Mariann Edgar Budde, and Bishop Richard Graham.   Special Music will be provided by The Cathedral Voices Choir in Washington and the Christmas Lutheran Children’s Bell Choir in Bethlehem.

Yet in thy dark streets shineth the everlasting Light;
The hopes and fears of all the years are met in thee tonight.
