Advent Devotion – December 5, 2010

Scripture – Romans 15:4–13

2010 Advent Devotions “May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.” (Romans 15:13)

There was a point in my life when I was faced with a chain of events that led me to feel saddened, betrayed, and confused. I felt my world turned upside down. I can say that “I’ve walked through the valley of the shadow of death.” I turned to the Lord, who gave me strength, wisdom, courage, and guidance. I now have the faith and strength, knowing that God will comfort me in any bad situation that arises and that this process will continue throughout my life because the Holy Spirit resides within me, guiding and empowering me to move forward.

His promise is to come back for us for a greater purpose. We will live in a place to serve God, worship, be at peace, and enjoy him forever!

Prayer
God, through our trials and tribulations, I know you bring us closer to you for a greater purpose. I ask that you continue to guide us and strengthen us each and every day. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
