The God of peace is our refuge

The following litany will be used as the call to worship for morning prayers on August 26 at the 2010 Presbyterian Peacemaking Seminar. Consider using this litany in your daily devotions as a way of taking part in the seminar. Find the Seminar Worship Book.

Come, believers,
Christ-redeemed,
God-beloved, Spirit-infused!
What is our call?
We are called to stand against injustice, inequality, and oppression,
as our Lord and Savior did,
for injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere.
Come, believers, come to worship God—
for God, the maker of heaven and earth,
makes wars to cease throughout the world.

The God of heaven and earth is with us.
The God of peace is our refuge.

Based on Psalm 46 God-beloved, and Martin Luther King‘s "Letter from Birmingham Jail"
