Seminar participants can make peace by responding to a need in the Abiquiu community.

Come and bring your knitting project, or come and learn to knit.

The desert of New Mexico gets very cold in the winter and the Boys and Girls Club in Abiquiu is in need of hats and scarves for 120 children and youth. If you enjoy knitting, participate in knitting circles or create prayer shawls, this is the place for you to pass along your craft.  If you are a beginner, bring a set of #8 knitting needles about 8 to 10 inches long, one skein of medium weight worsted yarn in the color of your choice. (One skein will knit a scarf.) If you are an experienced knitter, hats are needed. Bring #8 or #10 circular needles (16 inches long) and one skein of medium weight worsted yarn. Or if you have knitting needles to share during the seminar or extra yarn, please bring them along.

Remember to pack your knitting needles in your checked baggage!

S. Young Sweet Young, long-time knitter, quilter, and crafts person and former staff member of the Presbyterian Peacemaking Program, will welcome participants to the knitting lounge.

If you are unable to attend the seminar, your gift to the Peacemaking Offering  will help allow others to participate.
