A prayer for the people of North Korea

God of justice, we pray for the people of North Korea. We pray for those who are imprisoned and for those who have loved ones in prison. We pray for those who are persecuted for their faith or other reasons. We pray for those who hunger and suffer from malnutrition. We pray for those who live in fear. We pray for those whose human rights are violated and for those whose dignity is denied. Grant the people strength in the face of the challenges in their lives. Provide wisdom to the leaders that they might change directions for the country. Lead them to protect the dignity of the people, to honor their human rights, and to extend and ensure their freedom. May your mercy rain down upon the nation and the people of North Korea so that freedom may prevail and justice be done. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.
