Hiking and drumming across America

Iraq War Veteran Troy Yocum will hike 7,000 miles across America, banging his drum and sounding the call for $5 million to help military families in need. With Emmie the SuperDog by his side, he takes the first step of his 16-month quest on April 17, 2010.

Troy is from Louisville and will begin his hike in the city.  His Web site provides information about where he and Emmie will be hiking so you can follow their progress. There is an event schedule so you can have an idea of when they might be in your neighborhood.

Pray for those who are serving in our military and for their families.

Whatever one thinks of our nation's current military engagements, whatever one's personal decisions on military service, we should reach out when those who serve and their families face hard times. Thanks to Troy and Emmie for reaching out and inviting us to join them.
