Recognizing the freezing and subzero temperatures that have gripped the United States, Presbyterian Disaster Assistance (PDA) provides ideas for ways that congregations can provide care to our sisters and brothers who are vulnerable to the cold.
PDA is encouraging Presbyterian churches in areas affected to consider seeing how their facilities can be used as shelters or warming stations for the many families that are affected. Check with your local government and/or local American Red Cross chapter to see what steps are needed to make this possible.
PDA also provides links to information on surviving extreme winter weather.
Pray for those who are in the cold because they are working to keep others safe and warm.
