December 1 is World AIDS Day. The Presbyterian International AIDS Ministries Office provides worship resources and ideas to observe the day.
In advance of World AIDS Day the Kaiser Family Foundation has updated a number of key fact sheets and other resources that shed light on the epidemic’s impact worldwide, and the U.S. policy role in addressing the challenges.
These resources include an updated fact sheet on the global HIV/AIDS epidemic, reflecting new data released today by the Joint United Nations Programme on HIV/AIDS (UNAIDS). The fact sheet includes information on the global impact of HIV/AIDS as well as the U.S. and global policy response. Additional fact sheets examine the epidemic’s impact in Sub-Saharan Africa, the Carribbean, Asia, and Latin America.
In addition, the Foundation has updated its Global Health Facts database to reflect the new UNAIDS data. The database provides easy access to more than 100 indicators on global health conditions, demographics, health systems, economics and program financing.
The updated resources are part of the Foundation’s growing collection of work focused on the U.S. role in global health, including original policy research and polling, daily news summaries, a policy tracker monitoring key actions by the Administration and Congress, and videos and transcripts of Kaiser’s global health policy briefings and webcasts. These resources are available through the Foundation’s Global Health Gateway.
