Lamiel works with Christian Care Zimbabwe, a non-governmental organization of the Zimbabwe Council of Churches, involves humanitarian and development work with disadvantaged citizens. He is actively involved in water and sanitation programs aimed at alleviating water-borne diseases. Phiri is also a consultant working with orphaned and vulnerable children in Zimbabwe on gender and HIV/AIDS issues with a particular focus on the situation faced by girl children.
Lamiel is one of eleven participants in the International Peacemakers program of the Presbyterian Peacemaking Program of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.). The Peacemaking Offering supports the ministries of the Presbyterian Peacemaking Program.
