Pakistani partners of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) request prayer following the burning of a church in Sambarial. Some thirty Christian families are reported to have fled in fear. It is reported that the burning took place after an alleged desecration of the Qu'ran. Our partners indicate that there was no loss of human life. Our partners indicate that the Pakistani government and the local police took very prompt action that prevented the situation from deteriorating.
Please pray for those whose church building has been destroyed and whose lives have been disrupted. Pray for those who live in fear. Pray for those who provide support. Pray that the people of Pakistan might learn to respect their differences and live together in peace.
Gracious God, we pray for the people of Sambarial. Provide comfort to those who grieve. Provide courage to those who are fearful. Provide strength to those who rebuild. Provide grace to all that they might live together. Amen.
