Honor the Native Americans in our midst

Threesisters Native American Day is observed each year on the fall equinox — September 22 this year. The equinox marks harvest time for many Native tribes and is a time of celebration and preparation for winter. Use this opportunity to raise awareness of Native ministries and recognize contributions of Native peoples.

Honor the American Indians in our midst and across the nation, those living on reservations and tribal lands as well as those in urban areas — use the information and suggestions from the office of Native American Congregational Support as you observe this special day in your congregation.

Celebrate the three sisters: corn, beans and squash. Iroquois legend says that corn, beans and squash are three inseparable sisters who only grow and thrive together.
