They are not perfect as individuals or as a group. No individuals are. No group is.
The mandates they operate under are sometimes inadequate.
But some 100,000 men and women from 118 countries serve as UN peacekeepers in 16 of the most volatile countries in the world.
As with those who serve in our military of our country, every day is a good day to give thanks for the individuals and their courage and duty and honor. But as we set aside Veterans Day and Memorial Day as special times of remembering and saying thanks, May 29 is set as International Peacekeepers Day. Consider sending a message of thanks.
