Pakistan in turmoil

Presbyterian Disaster Assistance is among the humanitarian groups responding to the current crisis in Pakistan.

The BBC describes Pakistan as a country in turmoil. Pakistan's military has launched a military campaign against the Taleban. Reports indicate that hundreds of thousands of people are fleeing the fighting that is taking place in the north-western part of the country.

The growing number of internally displaced persons face significant challenges. Human Rights Watch and other groups express concern over civilian casualties. The United Nations health agency is bracing for a humanitarian crisis.

The Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) is engaged in ministry with partner churches in Pakistan. The church is also a partner is programmatic ministries.
