Christian Peace Witness for Iraq

Cpw_logo_color_300 Christian Peace Witness for Iraq invites Christians from across the country to gather in Washington, DC, on April 29-30 for a time of worship and nonviolent witness to mark the end of the first 100 days of the Obama Presidency. Events will take place at National City Christian Church, 5 Thomas Circle, NW, and will include speakers, nonviolence training, advocacy training, worship and a witness and nonviolent action at the White House. At the White House, the CPWI will gather  thousands of loaves of bread — symbols of the Bread of Life. Each loaf will be accompanied with a monetary contribution: the bread will be shared with the hungry of our nation's capitol; the financial gift will support the people of Iraq. The Presbyterian Church's General Assembly has made several statements on Iraq, most recently in 2008. The Peacemaking Program has posted prayers for all affected by the war in Iraq and other resources.
