The United Nations Commission on the Status of Women (UNCSW) has been meeting in New York from March 2. The meeting ends on March 13.
And Presbyterians are there. Again.
Seventeen individuals from Presbyterian Women have been joined at this 53rd annual UNCSW meeting by staff and members of Racial Ethnic Young Women Together and the National Network of Presbyterian College Women.
Presbyterian United Nations Office staff people are hosting the Presbyterians as they engage in the UNCSW process.
This years UNCSW theme is "The equal sharing of responsibilities between women and men, including caregiving in the context of HIV/AIDS."
In an article posted by the Presbyterian News Service, Louise Davidson, Vice-moderator for justice and peace of the PC(USA)’s Churchwide Coordinating Team of Presbyterian Women, states that, for the Presbyterian participants, “Our goal is to become informed advocates for women the world over.”
