Consultation seeks ‘mission-centered ethos’

Nearly 40 Presbyterians are gathered here May 10-12 to provide input into Presbyterian World Mission’s strategic planning process. “Together we want to take a new look at the future, what it is and what we need to do in this new world,” said World Mission Director Jose Luis Casal. “The biblical word that there ‘is a new heaven and a new Earth’ is always God’s work.”

Synod of Presbyterian Church of Venezuela issues pastoral letter

After months of unrest in Venezuela and as the nation approaches national elections on May 20, the Synod of the Presbyterian Church of Venezuela met recently in Barquisimeto, Lara, and issued a pastoral letter that ‘aligns with our understanding of the citizenship we are called to practice in this land of grace where we dwell and where the Presbyterian Church of Venezuela ministers.’

New mission co-worker answers God’s call to serve in Honduras

The hymn, “Here I am Lord,” floated through the sanctuary at Las Placitas Presbyterian Church in New Mexico Sunday, and just moments later, Dori Kay Hjalmarson walked down the aisle into her ordination and her new role as a mission co-worker in Honduras.
