Finding their voice

Established by the then-Moving Forward Implementation Commission (now a committee) to ensure that the work of three organizations — the Office of the General Assembly, the Presbyterian Mission Agency and the Administrative Services Group — is coordinated, the Coordinating Table has been working in recent months to define its work and to find its voice.

Researching donor restrictions is the key to leveraging restricted funds

After skipping a meeting in April, the Coordinating Table came together with a purpose Thursday, agreeing by consensus to a plan for staff to begin identifying the restrictions on some of the 2,000 restricted funds set up as bequests over many decades and continuing the discussions required for presenting a unified budget, perhaps as soon as the 226th General Assembly in 2024.

Making the PC(USA)’s national mission relevant to people in the pews

The Coordinating Table, which has been meeting monthly with the goal of creating a unified budget for the Presbyterian Mission Agency, Office of the General Assembly and Administrative Services Group, took a question-and-answer approach help it reach the goal in time for next year’s General Assembly.

Resetting the Coordinating Table

Established this summer by what is now the Moving Forward Special Committee, the Coordinating Table hit a snag Wednesday as members debated what changes the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.)’s Office of the General Assembly, Presbyterian Mission Agency and Administrative Services Group ought to consider to better serve Presbyterian congregations, their leaders and mid councils.
