PC(USA) advocacy offices urge end to Cuba embargo

Prior to a meeting with the U.S. State Department, Catherine Gordon of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) Office of Public Witness was part of a group that met with partners working in Cuba to get a sense of current conditions in the island nation. 

Cuban born pastor prays for continued hope and reconciliation for his homeland

The Rev. Tony Aja returned to Cuba last October for only the second time since he fled the country with his father in 1967. Strolling through his old neighborhood he remembers all too well how his family and friends suffered during the Cuba revolution, but as a minister of the gospel he clings to the hope that forgiveness and reconciliation will come eventually, even at the political level.

Report on Cuba passes committee and heads toward full General Assembly

Rev. Daniel Izquierdo, General Secretary of the Presbyterian-Reformed Church of Cuba (PRCC), spoke to members and invited guests of the Cuba Partnership Network on June 20 at the 222nd Presbyterian General Assembly. Izquierdo said he sees a new openness to dialogue, but after 57 years of misunderstanding and mistrust, it is still going to be a long journey.
