Keeping traditions alive

Trinity White Plume just turned 13. Like the gardens she has newly learned to plant and tend, she has also grown in unexpected and extraordinary ways.

Scarcity or abundance?

There is a growing awareness across the PC(USA) that racism and poverty are crises that must be addressed.

Every hymn in ‘Glory to God’ is worth singing sometime

One of the high points so far in my ministry within the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) has been participation in the development of “Glory to God: The Presbyterian Hymnal.” Although I came on board near the end of the hymn selection process, I had the honor of being involved in the preparation and introduction of this major resource of congregational song for the church.

Young Adult Volunteers are changing and growing during their virtual YAV year

For the first time in the 30-year history of the Young Adult Volunteer (YAV) program, the COVID-19 global pandemic forced the program to be a virtual one during 2020-2021. Mid Council Financial Network announces virtual conference set for Dec. 14-15

The Mid Council Financial Network (MCFN) — the only entity that serves the needs of the volunteer and paid staff who work with finances in the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.)’s 170 presbyteries and 16 synods — is preparing to hold its annual program, virtually, December 14–15, from 12:30-4:30 p.m. Eastern Time each day.

Celebrating congregational vitality on #GivingTuesday

During the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) #GivingTuesday 12-hour digital telethon set for Dec. 1, the Rev. Dr. Kathryn Threadgill and team will celebrate their Vital Congregations ministry. Along with dismantling structural racism and eradicating systemic poverty, building congregation vitality are the three foci of the denomination’s Matthew 25 invitation.
