‘I’m happier and it’s crazy how that happens’

This summer, 1001 New Worshiping Communities ministry kin-dom community hosted its first kin-dom camp for LGBTQIA+ youth ages 12-17 living in Texas and other states in the Synod of the Sun.

During the most recent edition of the Synod of the Sun’s podcast SunSpots, found here, host Thomas Riggs was sharing some favorite kin-dom camp memories with his guest, the Rev. Pepa Paniagua, the director and co-organizer of the week-long camp put on this summer for 58 youth who identify as LGBTQIA+.

On the first full day of kin-dom camp last week, it was evident the impact the camp would have on the 57 campers who identify as LGBTQIA+. 

Twenty-one new worshiping communities, two presbyteries receive Mission Program Grants
