Board of Pensions appoints executive vice president and general counsel

The Board of Pensions of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) has appointed Vivian D. Wesson as Executive Vice President and General Counsel. The appointment of Wesson, most recently Chief Intellectual Property Counsel for Marsh McLennan, forwards the agency’s commitment to providing strength and stability in support of the changing Church. 

PC(U.S.A.) A Corporation unites departments to create Administrative Services Group

The Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) A Corporation (A Corp.) took an important step Wednesday toward achieving its mandate from the 223rd General Assembly (2018). According to a news release issued following an executive (closed) session, the board voted unanimously to approve structural changes combining seven departments into the newly named Administrative Services Group.

A few years ago, Martha Clark grew concerned when Sara Lisherness wanted the then-Moderator of the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.), Heath Rada, to join her on a trip to one of the most dangerous cities on Earth: ISIS-held Mosul, Iraq. “Y’all may be ninjas,” Clark told Lisherness, Compassion, Peace & Justice director, “but the moderator is not. You need to make sure he’s safe.”

Mission Agency’s General Counsel announces retirement

Martha Clark has announced her retirement from the Presbyterian Mission Agency. Clark serves as the General Counsel for the Presbyterian Mission Agency (PMA) and Office of the General Assembly (OGA), as well as the General Assembly, Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) A Corporation, Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) Investment and Loan Program Inc. (PILP), Presbyterian Women in the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) Inc., Presbyterian Mission Agency Board and Committee on the Office of the General Assembly.
