The two dozen or so churches that have said yes to the Matthew 25 invitation during the month of April might consider keeping an eye on their mailbox.Welcome kits are in the mail. Each kit holds a letter of thanks and certificate, Matthew 25 hand fans, posters, brochures, bulletin inserts, prayer cards and a window cling.

Heritage Presbyterian Church in Muskego, Wis. has a resurrection story to tell.At the beginning it might sound familiar to many Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) congregations.  The membership was graying and in decline.  Of the 100 members on the rolls, between 30-40 came to worship.In 2015, the Rev. Michelle Henrichs joined them, providing pulpit supply for five months.  Ordained, and trained as a new worshiping community leader, she began asking members of the congregation, “When were you were most energetic and excited about church?”Their most common answer: “When we were raising our children.”

Anonymous donor gives Columbia Seminary $1M for Walker Presidential Scholarship

Columbia Theological Seminary is pleased to announce the creation of The Rev. Dr. Thomas W. and Jan C. Walker Presidential Scholarship. The new scholarship was made possible by an endowment gift of $1 million from an anonymous donor in honor of the lifetime of Christian service by the couple.
