Can your congregation say yes to these statements?
- Our church has a clear and concise goal in mind for its communications.
- Our church maximizes the use of its social media platforms.
- Our church’s website is easy to navigate and tells the congregation’s story
If you’re not sure about your congregation’ s responses to any of these statements you may want to schedule a communications workshop in 2017. Communications planning is an intentional process that looks at what each of your church’s audiences need to hear from you. Creating a strategic communications plan can be overwhelming, challenging and even frustrating. A sound communications plan is key to conveying your church’s message.
The daylong communications workshop, conducted by communications professionals on the Presbyterian Mission Agency staff, will provide tips and techniques to better reach your audience. We’ll offer insights and guidelines on creating a communications plan and you’ll learn proven techniques for enhancing your church’s website and using social media tools like Facebook and Twitter. The workshop also will include the “do’s and don’ts of media relations and “pitching” stories to your local media.
You’ll leave with tips that will make your congregation’s communications more effective and help increase your reach.
