Webinar on Earth Care Congregations and Environmental Education

The Earth Care Congregations (ECC) program will be a featured segment in a live national “webinar” on Tuesday, May 8, at 4 p.m. Eastern time.

William Seaman, from the Earth Ministry Team of Montreat Presbyterian Church (a certified PCUSA Earth Care Congregation), has been invited to be a co-presenter and will be giving a case study of how the ECC program reflects excellence in its content and process. Much of his material comes from the national Presbyterian guidebook for the process and from his own experience at Montreat Presbyterian Church.

The North American Association for Environmental Education (NAAEE) is embarked on a long-term, comprehensive program to enhance all aspects of the subject. NAAEE has been webcasting seminars all spring on various aspects of EE excellence.

Tomorrow, May 8, at 4 p.m. the webinar will present “Nonformal Environmental Education Programs: Guidelines for Excellence.” (“Nonformal” environmental education is where the “church” comes in.) To register for it, go to this website  http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/nonformal

As background, Bill made a presentation on the subject last autumn, to the NAAEE annual conference. One thing led to another, and they posted the paper at this website,

Meanwhile, for information on NAAEE see website  http://www.naaee.net/

Thanks to Bill for his leadership, and for sharing this good news with us!
