Learn about the Green Leaf Seal

Environmental Ministries and the Presbyterian Camp and Conference Association have introducedGreen Leaf Seal (Small)  the Green Leaf Seal for camp and conference centers. The Green Leaf Seal is presented to camp and conference centers that care for God's earth by practicing sustainability and educating guests about environmental stewardship.  To receive a Green Leaf Seal, a camp or conference center must have completed a total of five projects or activities in the areas of facilities, education/program, operations and outreach. Learn more about the Green Leaf Seal and encourage Presbyterian camp and conference centers in your area to work towards receiving the seal.

Environmental Events in 2011

March 25-28 Ecumenical Advocacy Days in Washington, D.C.
The theme for 2011 is Development, Security & Economic Justice: What’s Gender Got to Do with It? Learn about the Eco-Justice track. Compassion, Peace, and Justice Ministries will hold a training day on the morning and afternoon of March 25.

June 2-9 Eco-Stewards Program
The Eco-Stewards program is for young adults 20-30 who are interested in exploring connections between faith and environmental stewardship. At Greenwood Farm, a 40-acre organic farm on the Crow Reservation, just outside of Hardin, Montana, participants will consider how communities can achieve sustainability and reconciliation through better agriculture, health care and green building practices.  Limited paid summer internships are also available. 

June 20-26 Earth Honoring Faith Series
The fourth session in a ten year series at Ghost Ranch Abiquiu, NM is themed This Planet as Paradise: Beauty & Ecological Restoration.

August 31 – September 3 Presbyterians for Earth Care Conference
The conference will be held at Highlands Presbyterian Camp and Retreat Center in Allenspark, CO. The theme for 2011 is God’s Earth: Too Big to Fail? An Eco-Justice Conversation on Faith, Science and Culture.
